Account Manager

John Schmidt puts more than 20 years of Human Resources and Employee Benefits experience to work in his role as a Benefits Advisor. Prior to joining BIS Benefits (BIS) in 2002, John worked as a Benefits Specialist for a national employee benefits firm and in Human Resources.



John’s experience as the Senior Human Resources Representative for a research company in Marietta, Georgia has given him the “client perspective” of employee benefits. Having wrestled with the daily challenges facing HR professionals, he is able to come alongside other HR professionals to aid them in selecting strategic solutions to their organization’s benefits needs.

John possesses a unique blend of experience, communication skills, and attention to detail that makes him a trusted advisor for his clients. John’s clients are spread across a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, technology, churches and ministries, consultants, schools, attorneys, and certified public accountants.

John graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He holds a Georgia Life and Health License.

John and his wife live in Woodstock, Georgia with their three children. John is active as a coach and leader in community youth programs including basketball, baseball and the Boy Scouts of America. He is an avid gardener and would also enjoy showing you the “finds” from his metal-detecting. John is also very proud of his record of donating blood — which currently stands at over five gallons donated!
